Attaching a second hard drive to the scsi chain for backup purposes will
be a good idea. Make at least 4 partitions on it the size of the current
ones. Using block copy (even from the Finder) to copy all the blocks from
the current hard drive to the new one. This will also copy all the errors
on partition C. Hopefully the Finder can see it.

After backing up all information on the first hard drive, Salvation can be
used to try and fix C. If Finder says it can't see C, it might ask to
format it. You don't want that. The blocks can be read off C and written
to a large text file(s) that can be edited to recover the information. 

It is a real good idea to backup all the information on the hard drive as
the trouble with C could be something happening to the hard drive. I think
Prosel is available for free and it can repair stuff that Salvation
misses. 

Besides an error on C I think there could be a trouble in the area of the
hard drive that stores information about the different partitions. I don't
know how that information is stored.

I think Prosel can backup to multiple floppies, but floppies are generally
unreliable. 

The Focus hard drive (if it works with the scsi card) would be nice as it
could be used as a backup.

I used the SyQuest 135 meg removable cartridges for backup. It isn't made
or supported anymore.
