No -- I never really used MS-DOS ver 1. I just tried it once or twice but didn't
think it offered much advantage compared to CP/M. My move to MS-DOS occurred in
1986, to MS-DOS ver 2, which was more than just a CP/M clone: it had subdirectories
and installable device drivers, both of which CP/M lacked.
However, the real advantage of CP/M, and later MS-DOS, wasn't really the OS'es
themselves, but the amount of software available: there was simply SO MUCH to
choose among that whatever you wanted, you probably would find it. OK, if you
were a game freak, the Apple II certainly had more to offer. But if you wanted
more serious stuff, there was much more to choose among in CP/M.
