Well, they did mention that whatever they provide from their web
site would be available for visitors to freely download.  Be whatever
this is; archives of hardware schematics, programs, diagrams, text files
and/or graphic files - they would all be termed as software, in the
semantic sense of the word - as they would be available for downloads.

No, I don't know only too well.  Please enlighten and advise me on this with
more specifics; url's, host names, titles, archives online, etc.

No - not really!  They sold all of their hardware stock long, long ago.
Besides they said whatever they could find and provide from their web site
would be their for public access and free download.  I've never found any type
of hardware on any web site that could be downloaded for free or otherwise.  If
it's for public access from their web site and specified as being available for
free downloads, I'd safely venture to say it's 
software and/or archives of information on hardware they offered in the past
for sales.
