     Have you tried looking for the IDT71256 from Integrated Device
Technology? It is a 32k x 8 SRAM  (25ns-40ns) which may still be available in
a 600-mil package.

     If finding the 600-mil SRAMs gets to be too much bother, you could do the
socket mod and use 300-mil chips. The mod is described in the Apple II FAQs at
http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2ACCEL.html#016 .
