I =also= didn't run your benchmark, in fact I refrained from
running it a number of times, and guessed much better times than you.
In fact I'm not running it right now, on the Apple II Plus that's
sitting in the closet unplugged, and I imagine it's just blazing away.
For the record, Applesoft's FP package was notoriously slow (being something
of a rush-job unoptimized port of 8080 code, I'm told). Code your benchmarks
in assembler as Woz intended.
