Well, I used the command line where necessary to write menu programs.
Most people I know did, even for MS-DOS.

Heck, at one time I had bought a seperate command line program for
ProDOS, was supposed to be based on MS-DOS but never used it.
Eventually sold it for a lot less than I paid for it.  I think it
was called something like command.com, but no where near certain
on that.  When GNO/ME became available for free I downloaded and
installed it...and that's about as far as I've gotten on it.

I just happen to find a GUI easier to use than a CLI.
