I have an Applied Engineering TWGS with a 1.5 PROM. I'd like to do the
32K cache upgrade, but I understand from the FAQs that I need a newer
PROM -- I can cook the part if I can find the image somewhere. I
already tried the "AE Australia" site but my mail bounced (not a good
sign), and I have no other candidates. Does anyone know where to find
firmware for this card? How about software? Mine came with none, but
it must originally have shipped with some sort of
diagnostic/configuration program (aside from what's in PROM).
Does anyone know of a "retail" source for fast 65C816 parts? I'm just a
hobbyist, so I know the regular WDC distributors will tell me to go
away.
How about the PC Transporter? Does anyone know where to find
software/documentation for this? I'd like the get the keyboard adapter
cable and an external MFM floppy drive, or at least enough information
to let me roll my own.
TIA for help with this,
Bill
NB: I realize that I'm asking for assistance illegally to obtain
copyrighted materials. If someone can point me towards a legitimate
source, I'll go there instead, but an extensive web search found
nothing. This does not feel like piracy to me. Most hardware OEMs post
their latest device drivers and BIOS images for public download --- they
(explicitly) retain copyright but (implicitly) encourage distribution.
To my mind, this request does not compare with pirating applications
which vendors _never_ made available for public download.
