I can comment to this with some knowledge in that I have a System 6.0.1 with a
CMS SCSI card on it. I also attempted to hook up a CD to it (in my case a
thing called an INFOMASSTER which came in a box the same color and with the
same lines as a GS also exactly a GS footprint so I KNOW it was made for it)
and the BLASTED thing never worked! If you check the SCSI part of the FAQ
there is a description of the CMS card and the different Revisions. Yours may
not be an earlier one. Mine has a 1990 date on the microcode (no writting on
the tape on the chip)
Recently I got a real apple SCSI card (rev C) and this cd worked like a champ
on it first try!. I dont think CMS and SCSI work and play well together.
By the way: when I got this Rev C...the difference in speed between it, and
the GS with the CMS was...shall we say..."dramatic"
