Re: CD ROM drive on //gs

Ed:

Thanks for the comments. I'm familiar with general SCSI issues as I use
SCSI on all of my PeeCee computers. The gs has a CMS SCSI card. A 20mb SCSI
hard drive salvaged from a MacSE is the hard drive at ID=6. The system
presently works well, booting OS 6.0.1. There is 1mb of RAM. All of the
proper drivers are present in the System folder.

The CD is now at ID=0. Previously I had the CD at ID6 and the hard drive
at ID0. The IDs were never the same. Both are contained in external drive
cases, and the CD (at the end of the chain) is terminated with an active
terminator.

I guess that I'm under the misguided impression that the CD should
show-up on the Finder desktop whether or not it has a CD in it. This is
probably because of my substantial experience with the PeeCee platform.

Based on comments by others, it appears that this is not the case. Maybe
that's the problem. I think that I have to burn a test CD and see if it
works.

Thanks again for the help.

    .
