So, what you're saying is that Europe's market for VCRs is so small,
that to make it worthwhile to sell VCRs they also have to work with US
standard equipment. Hmmm, since Europe's much more leftward than the US
(above thread) I guess we see the results of government on the markets. 
:)  (I'm only partly serious, our government has WAY too much say over
our lives - I'm a REAL right winger, that is, a true Jeffersonian - the
government that governs best is the one that governs least)
