It may not be legal action but you are trying to get action taken
against someone who you feel is doing something against the rules of
an anonymous news group service but you seem to be okay with the fact
that others here are breaking international rules known as copyright
law.

And condoning, encouraging and participating in illegal activities
isn't out of line?

Gee, should I report you to your ISP for calling people names? :-)

No they don't. The law has made it up for them already.
However, they do have the choice of breaking that law or not but if
they do then they are doing something illegal and should admit to it
instead of claiming it is legal.

Things only stay quiet when mention of illegal stuff is kept to a
miniumum. If there are a lot of messages about illegal activity or
certain people start claiming that the way sites like Asimov and
others are operating is legal then things get out of hand because
those people don't like having someone point out that they are wrong.

The problem I have is that many people are trying to convince others
that uploading old copyright protected software is legal. I realize
that there is little chance of them getting prosecuted but it is still
illegal and telling people it isn't is outright lying. Besides, some
of the stuff is fairly new and still available.

Well, I use my IIgs on the internet every day.

Mostly to help those people who don't know about Delphi and happen to
stumble upon these newsgroups with their questions. I also like to
read how other people have solved problems and to find sources of
information that relates to using my Apple II as I use my IIgs every
day. I sometimes learn new things here.
I'm also here to help the remaining Apple II developers by making
people aware of their products and/or services.
And of course, to remind everyone that copyrights are still in effect
and that downloading certain software from certain sites is illegal so
that the remainder of the Apple II market doesn't degrade into total
anarchy and make all the remaining developers give up in disgust.
