This so called limitation is blown completely out of proportion.
In fact, I've noticed that going from 7Mhz to 9Mhz is a huge
difference. Going from 9Mhz to 12.5Mhz is a huge difference.
And folks with 15Mhz say that going from 12.5Mhz to 15Mhz
is a huge difference.
