     Well, duh! What kind of an answer did you expect? In any case, your
friends at Apple do not = Apple, Inc.. If Apple, Inc. cares whether AwksGS is
available for download somewhere, all Apple, Inc. has to do is request its
removal.

     The situation is essentially identical to the one which finds Apple's
copyrighted IIgs ROM available for download on Emulation Net at ...

The same site also offers Apple's copyrighted System 6.0.1.


     Meanwhile, if we surf on over to Emu Tech's web site for the Bernie IIgs
emulator (for Mac) at ...

and click the On-line Manual button, we find this statement:


"To legally download and use the ROM image, you must own a Apple IIgs computer.
If, for some reason, you are unable to make a ROM dump yourself, you can obtain
copies from the web: http://www.emulation.net/apple2";


     First, the statement is not true. Owning an Apple IIgs does _not_ convey
any legal right to transfer IIgs firmware to a Mac for use with an emulator. In
fact, technically, you are in direct violation of stated use restrictions.

     Second, the site, one vogons _never_ criticize, directs users unable to
rip off the IIgs ROM to Emulation Net to download the copy there. This is
exactly the kind of "Piracy!" you and your associates condemn when anyone else
does it.


Question: How come the Bernie home site sends users off to Emulation Net? Why
doesn't Emu Tech make the ROM dump available on its site?

Answer: Apple, Inc. seems to have forgotten to made any public statement
allowing its IIgs ROM to be ripped off. If Emu Tech offered the ROM, everyone
would _know_ they're "Pirates!".


Question: How come the Morally Oriented Regulators Of Net-available Software
vogon types do not post attacks on Emu Tech and Emulation Net???

Answer: Because one of the Emu Tech guys is a vogon!

     Where is the public verification of claims that Apple has given permission
to offer System 6.0.1 and the IIgs ROM for downloading?

     Actually, Dr. Tom's comments, while a bit short on diplomacy, are not
insulting.

     As for AwksGS-2, my recommendation is to forget it. Your best bet is to go
back to the original StyleWare WP and see if you can spruce it up for Sys6.
Even better (and likely to be more appreciated) would be finishing the IIgs
Bard's Tale III!
