I seem to remember when I did this to get it to work correctly,
I had to use ADU to make a disk with 1 partition, format it, set
it up, then afterwards I could re-partition it with the MacSCSI
driver extracted with GenEx.  I know it did work with the Mac as
I had the drive hooked up to my Quadra 650 running MacOS 8.1 to
make disk images for Bernie.

I suppose I could always fire up the IIGS again and try it with
a couple of SyQuest carts (which also worked) to see exactly 
what the procedure I had to go through was.
