Re: Ultima I for IIGS

Hey Penman,

It's only the PC folks and Apple who say the Apple II is dead. I
mean, you're talking about people who use Windows and really
believe Bill will fix things for them. Then there's the Jobs'
followers who knew the GS would have destroyed the Mac's chances
for success and purposely tried to destroy it. What they couldn't
do by hindering the development of the hardware, they tried to do
with lousy marketing.

Judging by this track record, I don't place much faith in there
opinions. :-)

We're at a unique point in the Apple II era. Not only are there
many old timers returning to 'fool around' but we are getting a
decent amount of new comers who only know about the II because of
the remarkable reputation it had as a reliable computer. And
surprisingly enough, there are still quite a few schools who rely
on these systems daily. This durability far outclasses the PC
which IMHO, would not have survived this long without the constant
upgrading to it's capabilities.

Right now we may be in a bit of a software slump, but some of us
are still working on new ideas and who knows where that will lead.
