The cable is different. Apple /// drives are connected as a daisy chain,
that means one drive plugs into another and only the first one is
connected to the computer. Therefore the cable carries four Drive Select
lines, three of them are fed into the succeding drive
You can build an adapter cable to use the disk /// with a disk II
controller (instructions are available on the web). Disk IIs are much
easier to obtain than Disk ///s, you may be able to trade your drive for
two Disk IIs.
