IIGS Questions, System 6?

Hi all...
Getting back into the world of Apple II computing after a few years
since my //c went belly up...but found a //gs (ROM 1, 1.25 MB) and
couldn't resist picking it up. I've got all my old //c stuff running
fine, and I've browsed the internet and FAQs and managed to get a few
things like a System 6 bare bones boot disk, ShrinkIt, and some other
utilities working.
However, I seem to have fallen victim to the floppy drive problem I
read about in the FAQ...My Mac (a PowerMac 6100/66) appears to write a
diskcopy just fine, but the disks are unusable in the //gs. I can read
ProDos disks fine (it freezes when trying to drag files onto them, but
can save, which is odd), and can read HFS disks in the //gs with the
utlity I downloaded...But I can't seem to find ShrinkIt versions of the
System 6.0.1 diskettes...there's reference to them on the Apple ftp
site, but I can only find the DiskCopy versions, which as I said
haven't been of much use. Are these still available anywhere?
While I may upgrade the RAM and get a Hard drive eventually, right now
I'm just playing around with this system, so I realize it won't perform
up to potential with its current hardware.
One thing I would like to do is get it to network with my Mac...I have
an old set of the Appletalk phone adapters, but have seen only very
basic info on setting this up...I can see the Mac in the chooser when I
boot from the System 3 disk that came with the //gs, but that's as far
as it goes. Does anyone have any pointers on what exactly can be done
on this front?
Anyway, thanks for any help or pointers; it's bringing back alot of
memories just setting this system up (I remember how jealous I was of
my friends who had //gs when I only had a //c...and now I just bought
one for $15 :)

Steve
