Re: Suggestions please!

Tom,

It sounds like a nice system as is, so what's wrong with using it yourself? I
not only use mine everyday, but I wouldn't trust another computer with anything
important.

If that's not to be, then:

[X] run a clock program and turn it into a timer (I've used mine as an alarm
clock many a time)

[X] add a probe and card and turn it into an electronic thermometer for the
outside or the attic (just how good is your insulation?)

[X] use it with a modem as an electronic phone directory and dialer

[X] start a business and run it from AppleWorks

[X] learn to write programs and publish them on the net

[X] loan it out to technophobes to introduce them to computing (what's
friendlier than an Apple II?) Soon, you'll have enough Apple II fanatics to
start your own Computer Club.

[X] donated it to a church (once they find out that it can do word processing
and mailings, they'll love it)

[X] donated it to a preschool (nothing simpler than an Apple II to start up
and operate, Apple IIs have proven that they can survive being used and abused
for over twenty years in classrooms, and preschools have zip for budgets)

[X] donate it to an after school program (for the same reasons as the
preschool)

[X] donate it to a senior center (challenges for the mind, easy to read 40
column mode, able to send email, plugs into tvs and vcrs for group use,
students who visit senior centers have another common reference and maybe some
expertise that they can share

[X] donate it to your local Apple II club (they can find it a home for sure)
