Help before these @#$#@ computers go out the window

HELP!!!

Ok I've got Proterm 3.0 running on my GS and Hyperterm and/or another
terminal running on my PC. When I type text into the PC it shows up on my
GS, but not vice versa. Also I can't seem to get files to transfer. As
Proterm doesn't support TTY out of the box I'm running ANSI emulation. I've
tried transferring via x, y, z, and Kermit. I know it has to be in my
settings somewhere, but I guess its smarter than I am. I've read the FAQ
forwards, Backwards, and upside-down and still can't figure it out.
