Hi Sheane,
You don't mention much about your hardware setup. This info is
very important in diagnosing you problem. On the GS, you will have
the option of using the internal port or an SSC (or other) serial
card. Now, assuming it is the internal port, there are very few
things which will go wrong. I suspect it is the serial cable. For
instance, if it's a printer cable, it may not work at all, but I
can't vouch for this as I have never tried it. I heard somewhere
that this cable was actually a null modem by itself.
If you are using the modem cable, you will need a null modem adapter
connected to the cable. You may also need a connection
adapter if the null modem will not connect right into the PC.
There was another user who had a similar problem and it turned
out to be the null modem/cable setup. I suggest you try this
first. Then get back to us with the results.
