Are you using Spectrum v2.2? If so, a bug that causes checksum errors has
recently come to light, and Ewen Wannop will be issuing an update to v2.3
at some point in the near future.

That's an oddity. I've always understood that the continuous self test
would pick up problems that the quick self-test didn't. I don't know
though, as I've never had any problems with my TransWarpGS.
Assuming that the continuous test is right and that there's nothing wrong
with the TWGS, my guess would be the connector cable. AE did ship out
some flaky ones.
If you have an account on Delphi, there's currently a "group buy" going on
for replacement TWGS (and ZipGS) cables with gold pins. With lots of people
ordering at the same time, the cost should be about $15 each. I don't have
the details, so check A2 on Delphi.

Lucky you ;-)
So, if it turns out that it's the GS that has the problem rather than the
TWGS, I think you have your solution already (probably in your garage).
