Echoes and Appleshare questions

I have some Echo + boards for the Apple II, but lately all the discussion
is about the Echo II boards. Whats the difference and will the Echo II
software work with the Echo +?

I have AppleShare 2 and 3, but haven't gotten around to doing an install
and playing with either. How wonderfull is it to have a IIgs netted to a
Appleshare 3 server? What can I do with a regular II series and a
workstation card?
