I can't see how any operating system, unless the user is doing block
editting, can have the user doing anything that causes corruption.

The user has no control over what the hardware does but if there is a
hardware problem, the hardware can cause corruption.

The user also has no control over the software that does the actual
reading and writing of data to or from the drive nor do they have any
control over how the software keeps track of where files are and what
blocks are in use. If there is a bug in the software, then it is
possible for corruption to occur as a result of a users actions but it
is the bug that causes the corruption, not the users actions. If the
bug wasn't there, the user could do those actions until he turned blue
in the face and nothing would get corrupted. :-)

Same here but I haven't gone through all those archives to see if any
of them have been corrupted yet. I have around 100 MB of archives on
that drive right now and probably another 100-200 MB to put on there
so I can sort through them, get rid of old versions and duplicates
then get rid of any that are on the TABBS CD-ROM that I received
recently.

All the archives that are on the HFS volume right now are still on
ProDOS floppy disks as well. I'm actually thinking of taking that 1.2
GB drive off of my IIgs and putting it in my Mac IIsi and putting a
540 MB drive on my IIgs and access the 1 GB drive through AppleTalk if
I need the extra storage.

Now here is a prime example of a post that can be misinterpreted. :-)

I'll just say that it isn't just people on Delphi that know that the
HFS FST still has some nasty bugs in it. :-)
