Probably the best "monitor" to use is a small television set.  Or
maybe a big one. :)   Especially if the TV is newer than about 10
years old.  As long as it accepts direct video input, sometimes also
listed as a VCR input or AUX input.  The //e has direct NTSC composite
video output, and can be used well with a color television that has a
direct video input.   in the early 1980's, most TVs did not have this
direct video input available, so many //e's had RF modulators
installed.  If you look inside the case, an RF modulator will look
like a silver box mounted on the inside  side of the case near the
back, with a wire going out the back of the box.  If you have one of
these, you'll need to either disconnect the RF modulator, or connect
the modulated output to a TV tuner, probably set on channel 33, but
possibly somewhere else.
