Re: filename extension mime types



I've gotten so used to downloading via the 'save as' function in
Netscape that it's become habit. Almost every transfer I make is
done this way. On occasion I use the FTP features of Midnight
Commander and/or KDE's file manager which works by extending the
file system to include these directories. In Windows, I have
found FTP Explorer to work quite well, but I haven't used it much
with A2 files. I have heard from others that the FTP shell which
comes with Windows has some problems with file transfers, but I
have not verified this.

Yes, I would like to see all A2 sites set up to automatically
transfer files in binary mode. Until that happens, and I can be
certain of a decent transfer, I'll stick with my current method.
IMHO, it's better safe than sorry, so I always force the system
to perform a binary D/L no matter what type of file.
