IIGS and Mac serial ports are the same and use the same serial
chip. It is the IIc Plus that use the same connector but is wired
differently inside and uses a different chip. You can use the same
cables as the IIGS/Mac, but the IIc Plus cannot do hardware
handshaking.
The G3 Mac does not have a serial port built-in.
