the continuing stick saga...

Thanks to Rubywand I received all three of the things I asked for...

the joystick testing utility verified that the buttons were faulty, and when I
popped the case I found that the little popping disks inside the switches had
corroded.

Needless to say this post is not to let everyone know about my great success,
because in the process of cleaning one of the disks I bent it.

Strangely enough I've never seen switches like this before. Power runs
continuously through it, and the switch wire is constantly connected to ground
(through the resistor) and all the switch does is connect the switch wire and
the power. So I guess it's a single-pole, single-throw, momentary push-button...
(even though it has two poles, I'm sure you could just bypass it.)

Anyway, I'm hoping that someone has a broken Apple IIe/IIc joystick out there,
and wouldn't mind busting it open and clipping out a switch and mailing it to
me?

Either that or I will have to find some kind of replacement at Radio Shmack.

Email me if you've got one of these bad boys lying around.

Thanks
