I use CrossWorks between my PC and my Apple II via an RS-232 direct
cable hookup. It works great in both directions, BUT... CW on the PC must
be run from a pure DOS only bootup.
I've had the "lost communications" problem too when CW was run in a DOS
window under both Win98 and Win95. I've played with all the DOS settings in
the PIF for CW but never a success.
But running CW on the PC while under DOS (not a DOS window) is not too
bad; it's great to have the transfer capability though.
