     Some plugs are a smidgen too small and will exhibit problems making a
good connection.

     What makes the screwup worse is that, just by committing to two output
channels, Apple could have used a smaller J-25 connector (enough pins to
handle input) and placed the sound demultiplexing circuitry in a low-noise
area of the motherboard.

     We would have begun with good two-channel sound plus getting 'old Apple
II' sound through the same outputs.
