Re: What is this connector?

The "S1" connector is unique to the ROM 3 board. By shorting it, it locks
out the text based Control Panel desk accessory (it disappears from the
CDA menu). This was a feature Apple added to prevent school children
from tampering with the Control Panel settings. It has no affect on the
graphical System 5 and 6 NDA Control Panel though.
