Carl Bunker's CDA File-a-Trix does what you want (and more). It is
freeware, but I don't know where you can download it
I could e-mail it you if you can't find it; again, it is freeware,
which means doing so would not be an act of piracy.

As for the ProDOS file types on the Mac, most of them have some kind
of encoding which I can't remember know, but is very straightforward:
the creator is "pdos" and the the ProDOS type and auxtype are
contained in the filetype, prefixed by "p". However, there are some
exceptions, like the TXT type wchich becomes "TEXT", and I thought
S16 applications as well. Someone please fill me in on this one.
