Using Netscape on the Mac...

Oh boy, is this newsgroup deteriorating. If someone does not
specifically mention that a message is Apple II related, others
immediately assume that it therefore is not!

So, here we go then. Read into this what you will.

Using Netscape on the Mac, I find that I cannot download .SHK files
directly from my own web site. Even though I have told Netscape what to
do with those files - "Save to disk", it still tries to display them in
the browser window.
First I thought that it was my fault. After all, I am not very fluent
with HTML yet, and I thought that I was doing something wrong with the
link on the web page. On another web page I found a download link saying
that it was an ftp link (as in HREF="ftp:file.name") but when I tried
that, it had no effect on my site; the ftp: prefix is ignored.
Other experiments had no effect either; yet there are several web sites
from which I can download .shk files without problems.
Eventually I found out that the problem is not on my side, but on the
server's: apparently the server has to know which files are displayable
and which are downloadable. And I got the advice to ask the helpdesk of
my ISP to correct this; all I need to do is to tell them what the MIME
type of .shk files is.

All this boils down to one simple question: what is the MIME type of
.shk files? (Assuming all of the above makes sense, of course.)
