Re: Using Netscape on the Mac...
Hi Pim,
I read your post FULLY, with much interest. I use a Mac with Netscape
for all of my online ShrinkIt archive downloads from both website (including my
own) and ftp sites too.
Here's my feedback on it all FYI. Netscape will display the ShrinkIt archive
in its browser window progressively as it loads it. When Netscape is finished
with loading theentire ShrinkIt archive file contents into its browser window
as a bunch of character jibberish (so to speak:)
you then save it to disk or your hard drive or desktop on your Mac or some
folder, etc. You MUST save it as TEXT and NOT as source!!!
I then use Shrink II on my Mac to unshrink the file. Shrink II will change
the file type to a NuFx file and will unshrink it just fine.
In all the years I've been doing it this way - I've never had any problems with
this method (unless the actual ShrinkIt archive is a corrupt file on the site
it's downloaded from).
If you need to get the Mac ShrinkIt program (Shtink II) you can download it
from any of the following; ftp -> the Tarnover site or www -> the
GS WorldView Jan2000 online ezine site. If you have any problems with finding
it to download from those sites, email me and I'll send it to you as a StuffIt
(.sit) archive by external email attachment file.
Cheers,
Tom
