Breaking up MS will cause there to be three companies that do business
the MS way.   However, due to the momentum behind the open source
movement either one or three companies will not matter.  The rules are
changing and changing for the better for the user.  Instead of there
being one choice for the general masses there will be could be 10 or 20
or 30 or more different OSes.  Yes, there will be someone crazy enough to
write something for the IIgs.  After all, you can get Linux for the XT!
