Hm, seems I was a little pessimistic about that; I've already got a

Yes; not only that, but it also can't be used with an AEHD. Or with a 
standard Apple drive.
You can read and write 800K disks, but only in the MFM format, not in 
the GCR format.
So it's not for me. I wouldn't have any use for it, and besides, if I 
were to put it in slot 5, I would also loose the SmartPort. So I 
couldn't even hook up my standard drives any more.
On the other hand, it's a ROM 3. Could it be that it could use both a 
disk controller in slot 5 and the SmartPort at the same time? Well, 
never mind.
