question on Standards for files
Guys: shk bxy and the like seem to be the standards for files in the ftp
sites. My question: how do you folks normally get these on to your IIs? do
you all have modems on your respective boxes? are you using null modem from
PCs? Transfers from Macs? what? I am NOT a Mac person, I have a few oldies,
but no modem and do all of my online stuff from PCs (NT, 95/98 or Linux) and
have the DEVIL of a time getting stuff across to my II. Any pointers/tips/
trade secrets out there?
Only way I have found that is easy for transfer is ADT with dsk files. As
most stuff is actually 140k or less in size, it seems to me that would be an
excellent choice as an archive format.
