It isn't the 5.25" drive that clicks. It is the speaker in the IIgs
that clicks when the IIgs polls the 5.25" drive.
Also, keep in mind that the IIgs doesn't always poll the 5.25" drive.
Only programs that do a HandleDiskInsert command in their event loop
will continuously poll all the drives looking for new disks. The
Finder in System 6.0.1 does this as well as several other modern
applications. If the 5.25" drive is being polled, you will see the
drive light flash ever second or so.
