I think he is implying that the key broke off at the stem. It's alot easier
to do then you think. Try it, drop something really heavy on the
keyboard!! (I'm kidding, don't really try this) :-)
When I broke off the Return key on my Apple IIc I got a replacement button
assemble and key from Shreve systems.
