Electronics Shopping, the new(?) paradigm

Guys I just HAVE to stop going by Goodwill! Today,,,I got 2 800k floppy 
drives, 2 3.5s, 2 Unidisk 5.25s, 1 //c, 1 color composit monitor, 1 
Imagewriter, a  raft of cables (including a Mac LC //e card Y connector: 
$1.99), and one enticing box that had me going for a while (it cost all of 3 
bucks and had the manual, the floppies and I could not wait till I got home to 
see....RATS! no card! #$@&!  somethin called a Mockingboard......  I am all of 
50 bucks the poorer....
