...because the connectors are wave-soldered in place.  The solder joint
develops a stress crack, then fails.  On my keyboards, I have re-soldered
both ADB ports and had no recurrances of the failure.

If you are just tossing real GS keyboards, why not toss one my way?  I
personally like the real GS keyboard, and I was very happy to see that the
Macintosh G3 tower still has an ADB port (or at least appears to have an
ADB port) so that one can connect a GS keyboard and mouse.  The G3
keyboard is a terrible design and the round mouse is even worse.

Anyway, that's getting off the subject.  The thing about a GS keyboard is
that it has something that almost NO modern keyboard has:  KEYSWITCHES. 
I've spent entirely too many hours typing on mushy Wintel, Sun, and
Macintosh/ADB keyboards.  It is so nice to go home to my GS with its real
keyswitches that really have some action to them.
