Actually, now is the best time to be a IIGS enthusiast because
all the parts are available to configure the IIGS with all the
power it was meant to have (power being 1986 relative, not
2000 relative). All the best software have also been written
only in the last few years. For example, a web browser.
The IIGS has always had the potential (and, in my opinion,
the DESIGNED DESTINY) to have 8MB of RAM and storage
of 1GB or more (or at least 500MB to 700MB) plus a nice
high resolution output device (laser or ink-jet) of 300dpi or
greater and a faster processor. Back in 1986, it just wasn't
feasable to build such an ideal system because of high
costs. Now, the IIGS can finally be used like it was meant
to be used.
