The problem with IIe units and CD-ROMs begs a re-examination of the A2FX code. A2FX was a IIe ProDOS based program that let the IIe read files from HFS disks and copy the files off. The resource fork could be saved, stripped, or combined. If such a program exists, why not use the code to build a more flexible "HFS CD-ROM reader" for the Apple IIe? That'll solve the problem once and for all.
