An AirDock is an IR transceiver for Appletalk. It replaces the LocalTalk
cable, so to speak. Especially useful for connecting computers which do
not have IR ports to computers that do.
So I want to hook up my Apple IIgs to my Powerbook 1400 using the
Powerbook's IR port, because the Powerbook has only one serial port, which
is now in use for the printer, the modem and Appletalk. Using the IR port
for Appletalk would greatly reduce the amount of cable switching I have to
do.
And I wonder if anyone has experience with that kind of thing.
P.S. Don't confuse AirDock with what Apple calls "Airport". That is
something completely different.
