If you have access to an ohm meter you should check for
yourself that the pins match and the connections are good.

I fried an early //c serial port way back when. I was making
my own cable and had no access to any info but the //c tech
reference and a PC reference. Don't remember exactly when
but this was when I first got into Apple emulators.
