IIGS and Macs use the same serial cables.  Therefore, simply
go to the Mac store and get a Mac to Hayes Compatible
Modem cable.  Then go to any PC store and get a null
modem adapter.  Plug the Mac end of the cable into the IIGS
and the modem end to the null modem adapter.  Then
simply connect a PC modem cable to the adapter and the
PC end of the PC modem cable to the PC.

Your printer cable might work too.  Printer cables on an
Apple IIGS (or Mac) are really modem cables with internal
null modems, so with such a cable you can skip the
adapter.  It depends on what kind of plug is on the printer
end, though.  If it is for an ImageWriter I, you are set.  If
it is for an ImageWriter II, the plug will not be right to
connect to the PC.
