this laser 128 won't run adt.dmp
i think i understand why this laser 128 won't properly
run adt.dmp. while the laser 128 is apparently supposed
to be an apple2c clone and the apple2c apparently runs
adt.dmp properly, i haven't been able to get satisfactory
results running adt.dmp. after getting dos3.3, i had
no problem loading adt.dmp on the laser 128 and starting
it by "brun adt". the screen appears to work properly
and the configure command works properly; however the
directory command drops characters at 300 baud (and goes
to garbage at any higher speeds) but appears to pass
some of the directory from the pc to the laser 128.
after reviewing faq 017 by david empson (thank you david),
the "print peek(64447)" yielded "0" suggesting that i
might have the original motherboard; so i uncovered the
motherboard and could not find the 1.8432 mhz crystal but
did find a 14.31818 mhz crystal. the faq suggests the
possibility that this motherboard might be 3 percent slow
(for communications).
short of buying additional hardware, does anyone have any
further suggestions?
does anyone have any experience using other software (like
ap2222c) with an original laser 128?
my thanks go out to those people who took the time and
resources to provide the faqs!
