network a gs to Linux?
Hmm, after reading the faq's on LAN-type connectivity for my Apple IIgs, I'm
confused. If a PC's serial port can't handle Appletalk, then I can't
connect the A2 directly to my Linux box w/ Netatalk via modem cable. And no
Ethernet card is available for the GS. And finding a PC LocalTalk card is
not easy. So.....
Alltech will sell a Farallon EtherWave Powerbook adapter that lets you "use
an Apple IIgs on Ethertalk Network". Does this work? If my Linux box does
Netatalk via Ethernet, can I use the Farallon adapter to put the IIgs on the
10Mb hub to get files off of the Linux box?
A while back Supertimer gave someone the lowdown that you had to have the PC
Localtalk card in the Linux box. Can I use the Farallon adapter instead?
Confused,
SJ
PS: Anybody ordered a Focus drive lately? What's the ship delay?
