Louis Cornelio's recent query reminded me. I have two IIgs, one with an
Apple HS SCSI card and the other with an early Ramfast card (a version
2 ROM, ISTR). I haven't tried swapping disks between the two systems
but I may need to shortly.
1. My understanding is that the Ramfast does not store an Apple
partition map on the disk. Is there an easy way to mount such a disk on
an HS SCSI?
2. The reverse question -- does the Ramfast object particularly to the
Apple partition map.
3. I created a couple of ProDOS partitions on a Zip disk using the
Ramfast utilities and can successfully boot from one of the partitions.
I assume that the problems will be the same as for a hard disk if I try
to access the Zip cartridge on an HS SCSI IIgs? I'm not concerned about
trying to boot the HS SCSI system from the Zip.
Just for the record: if things look messy, I can quickly knock up a
file transfer solution using LocalTalk but I would like to know the
easiest way to use Zip cartridges with ProDOS partitions on the two
systems.
