I can't remember whether this information is in the book "Appledesign:
The work of the Apple Industrial Design Group" and my copy of the book
is at home. The book contains one or two interesting titbits about the
original Apple ][ case design (and some really good stuff about the ][c
and ][gs) although most of the book describes Macintosh technology as
you'd expect.
