Use HFS instead of ProDOS (Re: Making GS disks on a mac: will it work?)

I have found that the Mac does not always access ProDOS
disks properly.  When it does not, it is better to write HFS
800k floppies on the IIGS and read the HFS disks on the
Mac.  HFS is the Mac's native file system.  The IIGS also
reads and writes Mac HFS disks faster than the Mac's
PC Exchange can do the same for IIGS ProDOS disks.

A IIGS with System 6.0.1 or even System 5.0.4 with the
HFS FST installed will be able to format, read, and write
disks with TWO file systems.  The user chooses either
HFS of ProDOS.  Simply choose HFS, format the disk,
copy the files to the HFS disk, take it to the Mac, and
you can then on the Mac do the transfer to the PC.

Actually, you'd need to install a third file system into the
IIGS System.  You need the DOS 3.3 FST to copy your
files from DOS 3.3 to HFS.  System 6.0.1 has all the
needed FSTs.  For the user who does not have enough
memory for 6.0.1, 5.0.4 could be used instead.  The
FSTs from 6.0.1 can be installed and used in 5.0.4.
